Sports!!

Katie decided to try out volleyball this year.  It is a big sport for girls at Rossville and she is really liking it.  Addie joined her first team sport with soccer.  She really likes it and it is fast-paced (which helps!)

First game at St. Lawrence

Katie picked her number....zero!

Ready for action.  She is actually pretty good at returns.

Warming Up!

She did make a goal during the game.

Frozen on Ice

We did Disney on Ice a few months early and of course they advertise Frozen on Ice.  We made a trip back to Indy to watch.  This time Lucy got to go because Jason made a quick trip to Memphis for work.

It was a fun day with Emily and Claire.  The girls had a really good time.

Fincher Reunion

We all headed up to Mom and Dad's for the Fincher Reunion over Labor Day weekend.  Mom had a torn rotator cuff, so I went up early to help.  Jason had to work at SIA all weekend, but we kept busy!

Anea was having fun too!

Evan, Tiffany, Taylor, and Aunt Linda

Kyran had breakfast on the steps in between swimming.

Katie is wondering what is going on
It was nice to see all my cousins.  There was a lot more people at the reunion than pictured, but you know me and picture taking.  We also had a surprise 60th birthday party for Uncle Dick that Friday evening.  It was a full, but fun weekend.

Random Post

We had some cute pictures that didn't fit in a specific blog, so thought I would post them here.

Lucy decided to make mess...as usual.

We got a pool in June and the girls had fun!

Last few days of summer

SCHOOL!!

Well, school came early this year.  Rossville went to a quasi balanced calendar.  This means we started school on August 5th, but we get a week for fall break and an extra week for spring break.  This was Addie's first year for school.  She was super excited.  However, she ended up with the stomach flu that evening, so missed the second day.  She had a couple of hard weeks adjusting to all day school, but is now really liking it.  Katie is the "Big Girl on Campus" as 5th grade is the final elementary grade.  She gets to move classes for social studies, so that is a new change.  She was also ready to get back to school.  I was a little sad to see both my girls go to school, but Lucy is still home for a little while longer.

So, just to make me want to cry, here is Katie's first day of kindergarten (what a difference)

Addie had a new backpack and was ready to rock and roll!
Took a few tries to get a "real" smile!

Lucy wanted her picture too!!
I took the girls to Shari's to get on the bus.  It was a large crew!

I was there to see them get off the bus too.  It was big day for Addie.

Later on in the week (on Fridays), the girls get on an off the bus at our house, so they all wanted another photo op.

Lucy was jealous she didn't get a backpack, so we let her try on Addie's.

And we are off and running for another school year!!

Ludington

I am behind...again!!  I have other pictures, but we changed phones and they are stored in all different places.  I am taking the easy way out and copying my sister's post.  We had a blast again in Ludington and are even planning a mini visit in October.  It's so nice to just hangout with family.

I took so many pictures during our week, that I decided I'd break it into to posts.  The first post was pictures from my cell phone.  This post is full of the pics I took with my good camera (that one doesn't go out on the boat...too many ways for it to end with a slow death at the bottom of the lake, lol)!
 Ben caught his first fish!

Addie caught a fish, too!  But, she wouldn't touch it, lol!

Who's the king of the playground?  Kyran!

 Kyran's making some pancakes...yum!

Birthday present time...Dad got his a little late, but he's still smiling.

Uncle Eric and Aunt Tai made Ben's day with these toys!

Jason, Andy and Grandpa Jim took the kids to Sandcastles Children's Museum, and boy did they have a good time!  Lucy and Kyran "drove" all over the place!

 So did Ben!

Kyran wouldn't stop talking about the plane he flew at the museum...this was a huge highlight!

 Addie, always the performer!

 Katie, showing her tumbling skills

Lucy, hamming it up for the camera!

This little paddle boat is such a hit at the lake...everyone (adults included) love to take it out for a ride!

Katie and Ben decided they should stick to the paddle boat...the canoe was a bit of a challenge (but very humorous for us to watch)!

 Look at these cutie pies!

Just snapping a few pictures without anyone noticing.  Mom and her fishing pole!  She loves to fish!

I think they're telling fish stories.

 They caught me!

A little photo shoot before dinner, on the last night of vacation!

I love this picture for so many reasons!

And these pics show us how they spent the evening...a week with very little TV meant that they were absolutely glued to it when we finally let them watch a movie!  I don't think a tornado would have phased them!
