Day Off!

Due to the Rossville's balanced calendar, Addie and Katie had Monday off from school.  I took the day off work and Jason took a 1/2 day.

Addie recovering after her broken arm.  She liked watching "Stonehouse Rehab" (apparently she has our fix it up genes).

We decided to take a trip and let Addie pick the restaurant.  We ended up at Olive Garden in Zionsville in mid afternoon.  It was a great lunch/dinner and the restaurant was quiet.

That evening, Katie had her first basketball game of the season.  She plays on the B team.  Instead of a whole game, they played a B team quarter because the other team didn't really have a B team.  She was on fire with steals, defense and keeping the ball safe.  Go Katie!

Broken Arm

Superbowl Sunday was rough for Addie.  We had just gotten home from Lafayette and Jason and I were working on some little odd jobs around the house.  Addie was leaping and bouncing around the living room.  I had no sooner told her she better calm down before she gets hurt and walked out of the room when Katie came to get me saying she thought Addie had broken her arm.  Apparently she had done some leap move over a chair and landed on her arm.  After a little hysteria, Jason determined she was shivering because she was going into shock, so off Addie and I went to the hospital.  The arm didn't swell or look broken and she actually fell asleep at the ER (the ER was very quiet - probably due to the game).  After a quick x-ray, it was determined she had a spiral fracture of her ulna and they put it in a hard splint.  She goes to the orthopedic surgeon this week to see the next step.  She was a real trooper!  It's been fairly calm since it happened with not a lot of pain.

Day out with the Browns

The Browns came over to our house Saturday evening and their daughter spent the night.  So, we decided to meet Sunday in Delphi to have breakfast.  We then made a stop at the canal.

Solo and Ensemble

On Saturday, Katie had her first Solo and Ensemble competition in Kokomo.  She earned a gold on her solo "Stepsisters Lament" and a gold with her ensemble on "Circle 'Round the Moon".

New Bunk Beds!

Last week, I put my handy man skills to work.  Jason had lifting restrictions from his surgery, so when Addie and Lucy's bunk beds arrived, the girls and I got to work.  Katie carried all the pieces to the upstairs while I was at a meeting.  Addie (and a little bit Lucy) helped me get it all together.  We only had one rail on backwards, so Jason had to drill two holes.

Spring in January!

We took advantage of the super warm day on January 21, 2017.  Lucy helped Daddy in the barn (she thought the tractor needed a wash) and then the girls played in one of the big puddles in the field.
