Katie - Creative Joy

I decided to start my blog with the first day of school this year and profile each of my girls.  Katie is my creative girl.  She loves to make things.  Katie is an avid reader.  Right now she reads Nancy Drew graphic novels and Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.  This has been a very busy year for her.  She turned nine in July and is at that point where she is starting to get active in things.  This year, she was in swimming club (breaststroke and backstroke are her favorites), basketball at the YMCA, and a local church club.  This was also her first year in 4-H.  She took shooting sports, dog obedience poster, cake decorating, wildlife, photography, sheep and swine.  She fell in love with showing sheep and took them to the State Fair.  She is my outdoor tomboy.  However, she likes to get dressed up every now and then too.  This year was also her First Communion.  We are so proud of her!  She is kind and thoughtful.  She is my little absent minded professor.  She loves to learn and read, but organization and remembering things are not her things.  She started fourth grade this year and her teacher already has her pegged as an author/illustrator or an editor.  Katie says she wants to be a nurse.  She continues to do awesome at school.  Her few B's are mostly from forgetting to turn something in - but she was okay with it :)  Here are a few pics from the first day of school.  It's going by fast!!
