Old Threshers - Labor Day Weekend
Jason and I had not been to Old Threshers for a few years. We both like historic things, so this was a very nice weekend. The girls stayed with Grandma Judi and Grandpa Brad, so Jason and I had a nice drive out to Mount Pleasant, Iowa and then stayed with my parents in their camper Friday night. We then had all Saturday together and picked out some of our favorites. We woke up early on Sunday and had a great trip back. It was very nice to spend time with Jason doing something we both enjoy and to visit with my family and my sister's in laws.
Cousin's Visit August 26-27

Bowling
We took Lucy on her first trip to the bowling alley with our friends. We had a good time (Lucy did get a little bored) and the bowling alley was very kid friendly. Ended up with dinner at Pizza Hut!
Date Night
I was home for the day and did a little math. I came to the conclusion that Jason and I hadn't been out since March! I got Shari to babysit, met Jason at the door and told him to get dressed, then took him out without telling him where. It was a lot of fun! We ate at the Eagle's Nest (the only rotating restaurant in Indiana) and had a nice walk downtown. It was such a wonderful evening with my best friend!
End of Summer
Right after we got back from vacation, school started. The girls had a little last minute fun with a dance show.
We then had open house at school. Addie is in 1st grade and has a new Purdue graduate as her teacher, Miss Yoder. Katie started Middle School!! She was excited, but having a locker for the first time made her nervous. She decorated her locker but then a teacher had her change to a lower locker the third week of school when she notice Katie used her trapper as a step stool.
The first day of school was exciting as usual. I can't believe Katie is finished with elementary.

Ludington
Just got an update from Megan's blog, so I thought I would re-post some of her great pictures!

While we were in
Ludington, Katie decided she wanted to try a new "do" before
heading back to school. We found a salon in town and scoured Pinterest
for some ideas. Here is what she decided on...it turned out perfect!
The
"before" picture. Katie had taken a baby step towards this
last year, when she cut off about 6-8 inches of her hair. She's been
wanting to go short for a while, but thought it might be best to go in
stages.
No turning back
now!
Starting to take
shape
The finished do!
As you can see by her smile, she was absolutely THRILLED with it!!!
Katie and her support
group!

Here are some more
pics from our vacation!
The tube is always a
good time on the lake. We were very excited when Matt and Allison
joined up mid-week with their kids, so that there were some "big"
kids to have fun with on the tube!
Taylor and
Grandma Debbie...two pretty ladies!
Rose's
first time in the lake!
The kids, once
again had a great time at Sandcastle's Children's Museum. That place
never disappoints!
Stay tuned for more posts from our vacation!

Once again our family
headed north to spend a week in paradise. We love Ludington and look
forward to spending time with my entire family, relaxing at the lake.
It never disappoints, year after year. This year, it was Baby
Rose's first trip, so it was even more special. Of course, I took a ton
of pictures...over 700, so I have way too many to post. But, here are a
few of my favorites that I took the time to edit! They're will be
several posts to get all the pics in, so enjoy!
Miss Lucy loved
the water
Nothing beats
ice cream from House of Flavors...we always make at least a few trips during
the week!
Kyran was in 7th
heaven in Ludington!
Addie and her
big, bright eyes...melts my heart.
All of the kids had
hours of fun jumping off the dock!
