We were looking forward to a fun quasi camping trip to Spring Mill with our friends, the Heaters. Mid-June to Mid-July is a super busy time at work for both Jason and I, so we were so happy to get away. We no longer have a camper, but our friends do. The plan was for us to stay at the Spring Mill inn and then spend a lot of time hiking and at their campsite. Well, a tornado went by Bedford (close to Spring Mill) and then a huge thunderstorm went through. It was all before we got there, but everything was soaked and it continued to rain. We called it a night at the inn and figured we'd have better luck Saturday. We all got up, had a horrible breakfast at the inn and then started to get ready to head to the campsite. I had warned the girls to keep Lucy out of the bathroom because she likes to play in the toilet. Addie was trying to help by shutting the bathroom door, but Lucy was pushing on it. More shoving and pushing and Addie did not realize that her other hand was wrapped around the hinge side of the door. Ouch!! It was bleeding a lot, so we rushed off to the campsite because Joe Heater had some first aid stuff. After Joe and Jason looked at it more, we headed off to the ER in Bedford. After 3 hours including a nerve block (horrible!!), three huge stitches, x-ray, a splint, and a trip to CVS, it was determined that Lucy had almost cut off her finger and broke the tip. The medicine that was supposed to knock her out for the day lasted about 45 minutes. The Heaters were so gracious to watch our kids for the day and take them to the Nature Center. We ended the night with a movie and Euchre in their camper.

Not the best weekend, but ended on an even worse note. Our neighbor was so nice to watch our home and feed our animals while we were away. He called to tell us we had two trees down from an awful storm.
So much for a restful weekend. We did get time together though.....cleaning up the yard!
