Ludington

Just got an update from Megan's blog, so I thought I would re-post some of her great pictures!

While we were in Ludington, Katie decided she wanted to try a new "do" before heading back to school.  We found a salon in town and scoured Pinterest for some ideas.  Here is what she decided on...it turned out perfect!
The "before" picture.  Katie had taken a baby step towards this last year, when she cut off about 6-8 inches of her hair.  She's been wanting to go short for a while, but thought it might be best to go in stages.

 No turning back now!

 Starting to take shape

The finished do!  As you can see by her smile, she was absolutely THRILLED with it!!!

Here are some more pics from our vacation!
The tube is always a good time on the lake.  We were very excited when Matt and Allison joined up mid-week with their kids, so that there were some "big" kids to have fun with on the tube!

Taylor and Grandma Debbie...two pretty ladies!

Rose's first time in the lake!

The kids, once again had a great time at Sandcastle's Children's Museum.  That place never disappoints!

Stay tuned for more posts from our vacation!

Once again our family headed north to spend a week in paradise.  We love Ludington and look forward to spending time with my entire family, relaxing at the lake.  It never disappoints, year after year.  This year, it was Baby Rose's first trip, so it was even more special.  Of course, I took a ton of pictures...over 700, so I have way too many to post.  But, here are a few of my favorites that I took the time to edit!  They're will be several posts to get all the pics in, so enjoy!
 Miss Lucy loved the water

Nothing beats ice cream from House of Flavors...we always make at least a few trips during the week!

Kyran was in 7th heaven in Ludington!

Addie and her big, bright eyes...melts my heart.

All of the kids had hours of fun jumping off the dock!

August is here!

We just finished up Ludington and now summer is pretty much over.  Ready for school??

The girls did an impromptu dance/gymnastics number for use

The Thursday before school began, we had open house at the school so the girls could take in their school supplies and meet their teachers.  We had "orientation" for Katie that night since she is now officially in middle school.  She got her schedule (she changes rooms this year) and her locker combination.  The lockers were a big point of anxiety for all the new 6th graders.  Poor Katie got a top locker, so she can barely see her combination.  She finally figured it out!  Addie has a new graduate from Purdue as her 1st grade teacher - Miss Yoder.
Addie's classroom - her new teacher admitted she has a decorating addiction (super cute room)

Katie mastered (and decorated) her locker

Ludington 2016

Our family took our annual trip to Ludington.  I'm sure Megan will have lots more photos.  Baby Rose made her first trip to Ludington and was a hit with all her cousins.  The kids enjoyed swimming, fishing, boating, tubing (Katie tried skiing), playing on the playground, visiting the Children's Museum, the beach, shopping, and of course a trip to Flavors for ice cream.  It was a little warm this year which may have contributed to the lack of fish caught, but it was still a good time with family making memories.

FUN AT THE PLAYGROUND

SANDCASTLES CHILDREN'S MUSEUM - ALWAYS A FAVORITE!

MY FAVORITE - SLOW BOAT RIDE TO LOOK AT ALL THE HOMES ON THE LAKE

On the way home, we stopped to pick blueberries.  The girls had never done it and our local place was closed when we went.  They had a good time and Katie bought her own blueberry bush (hopefully we can keep it alive!)

If you noticed...Katie chopped off her hair.  She has been asking me for a long time, but she got some paint in it on the trip and we took her to the salon in Ludington.  We love it - but Daddy says she looks too grown up.
